The DuraChoice TW460 6" thermowell is not recommended for use with a 4" thermometer stem. The thermowell should match the length of the thermometer stem. There is a 4" version of this thermowell, which is part TW440. It is made from the same 304 Stainless Steel material, only the length is different.
