Level 2 electric vehicle charging needs a 240V outlet as well as a separate charging unit, such an a BreezEV E-vehicle charger. This differs from Level 1 charging, in which the vehicle is plugged into a standard 120V outlet, or DC fast charging, which needs 400V or more. Level 2 charging is perfect for electric vehicles that remain parked for several hours, such as overnight at home or during the day at a workplace.
