WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF USING NICKEL PLATED BRASS MATERIAL INSTEAD OF A NORMAL IRON ALLOY TYPE EX CERTIFIED REDUCER?

MY ENCLOSURE IS EX D AND THE CABLE ENTRY GLAND IS NICKEL PLATED BRASS, IS IT SUITABLE TO USE OTHER THAN A NICKEL PLATED BRASS REDUCER BETWEEN GLAND AND ENCLOSURE?

It is recommended that if you are using a metal cable gland, that the reducer be of the same type of material. Therefore, if you are using a nickel plated brass cable gland, the reducer should also be nickel plated brass. Using mixed metals can cause an oxidation reaction.
