The insert on the CD21AS-04 cable gland is made from elastomer, so it is flexible in the respect that it will compress down on the cable. As long as the 12/2 UF cable fits just below the slot dimensions of .28" x .55" (7 x 14 mm), it will create a tight seal. For an ideal fit, there should not be more than .04" (1 mm) of difference between the size of the cable and the size of the insert slot.
