The temperature rating for this alligator clip will vary depending on whether it is used with an insulator, and what type of insulator is used. When used alone, the Mueller BU-60HT works up to 1100 F (593 C). When used with a silicone insulator, it can be used up to 356 F (180 C), while a standard PVC insulator will put its temperature rating at 160 F (71 C).
