There could be a few reasons why the 5001 Wire Stripper blades would not be able to open. If the blades have just been changed, and the blades are not centered with the shoulder of the screws, it could pinch the blade and not allow them to move. If the blades have been used for a while, they may need some light machine oil around the blade head and other moving metal parts. The spring that is attached to the blade head arm may have come off or may have broken, which is unlikely but a possible cause. One other possibility could be that the blade cam has broken, in which case all of the cams should be replaced.
