Most of the hardwired DIN 43650 solenoid valve connectors have three gasket options: NBR profile, NBR flat, and EPDM flat. Besides being two different types of rubber, the main difference is what substances they can stand up to. NBR is also called nitrile rubber. It is resistant to oils, especially mineral and vegetable oil. EPDM rubber stands for Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer. This type of rubber gasket is less resistant to oils, but is better than NBR when exposed to heat, weather, and ozone.
